How did you celebrate Earth Day?

May 1, 2008

Anna May Daulton Elementary School truly believes recycling is a community effort!  The community really showed this to be true on Earth Day, April 22nd.

Radio Disney donated prizes for our recycling contest. We had a drawing for the grand prize. It was a High School Musical 2 poster signed by the cast! High School Musical signed poster winner.

Texas Rangers Captain made a surprise visit during lunch for the class that recycled the most. Needless to say the students were thrilled to see him. He went around giving everyone a high 5 for recycling.Texas Rangers Captain taking a bite.
Lunch time…guess who’s on the menu.

Ms. Sarvis showing off some of the 320 items saved from the landfills! Her class had 100% participation!

Every student that recycled on Earth Day got to sign the tree. What a wonderful way to leave your mark!

There is an old saying…it takes a village to raise a child.  Here’s the new saying “it takes a community to educate a child on recycling”.  Children learn by example!
